Connect an AI assistant
Updated
Connect Claude, Cursor or another assistant that supports MCP, and you can ask it to work your queue in plain language. For example: "summarize what's waiting in Unassigned" or "find every ticket about the login bug and draft a reply to each."
There's nothing to install. Bancroft hosts the connection, and every assistant uses the same server URL. Find it, with a copy button, in Settings → AI assistants.
What an assistant can do
When you connect, you approve what the assistant may do:
- Read tickets and help center articles.
- Reply, add internal notes, and update tickets and articles.
- Suggest tags and priority, draft replies and summarize tickets.
- List teammates and customers, for workspace admins only.
The assistant acts as you. Replies and notes it writes show your name, and it works in the workspace you used most recently.
Set it up
Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop and the mobile apps)
- In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector.
- Name it Bancroft and paste the server URL.
- Select Connect, sign in to Bancroft and approve access.
A connector you add once works in all of Claude's apps. On Claude Team and Enterprise plans, an owner may need to add it for your organization first.
Claude Code
Copy the command shown under the Claude Code tab in Settings → AI assistants and run it in your terminal. Then start Claude Code, run /mcp, choose bancroft and sign in when your browser opens.
Cursor
Select Add to Cursor under the Cursor tab. Cursor asks you to confirm, then shows a sign-in prompt in its MCP settings.
Other assistants
Any assistant that supports remote MCP servers over HTTP with sign-in can connect. The Other tab shows the settings most of them accept.
How long access lasts
Access renews on its own for up to 30 days, then the assistant asks you to sign in again. To cut it off sooner, find it under Connected apps on the same settings page and select Disconnect.
Running scripts without a person
For scheduled jobs, a workspace admin can create a server API key instead. It works for the whole workspace rather than as you, so keep it somewhere private. The Running without a person section of the settings page shows how to use it.
